It has been a real honor and privilege to spend the majority of our time in India at the Asha House and especially to spend a lot of time with Victor and Simini. This couple is an absolute treasure. They are such an example to me of what it is to lay down your life for a greater cause.
Before Victor and Simini even knew each other they each had dreams of starting a home where they would take in neglected children and orphans from the slums and streets of India. In India it is customary to have arranged marriages and theirs was arranged by close friends and pastors who thought the two would make a great pair. Once the two married, they decided to start their own children’s home. 7 years and 32 children later, their story is still being written. You can read the stories and see some photos of all the children they currently have at their Asha House in this previous post.
Victor and Simini dream of one day having their own land in India where they can have around 50 children. They don’t want more than that because they want to create a homely environment for the children and they know it would be harder to do that with too many children. Their hope is that they will be able to start their own school and through those funds generate enough to become self sufficient. They currently live and operate the Asha House from gracious giving by many people that have visited the Asha House over the last 5 years.
We really wanted to give them the gift of some photos together and they obliged. Simini put on a beautiful Indian lehenga dress and Victor wore a sharp suit! Then they changed into more casual clothes as well. For the last set of photos we added Tabitha, who is very special to them both. Tabitha was the first baby born at the Asha House and thus Victor and Simini took special care of her and raised her as their own from birth. Tabitha has a special relationship with both Victor and Simini and is a joy to spend time with.
We have so much love and respect for the work they are doing with the children. They are living out their dreams and even though there is difficulties that come about from having 32 children from all ages to care for, they do it diligently, with humility and above all so much love.
El amor de Dios a traves de esta linda pareja! de mucha inspiracion!!!
